Before you start
The Deco can only be set up through the Deco app, which is available on Android and iOS. Make sure the Bluetooth and Wifi are enabled and turned on for your device before beginning.
Below is the Deco M5 setup for example.
1. Go to Google Play or the App Store to download the Deco app. Install the Deco app on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet.
2. Open Deco app. Log in or sign up to set up a TP-Link ID. The TP Link ID is not related to your Dreamtilt account and is a TP Link account and app product.
Note: If you already have a TP-Link Cloud account, you can log in with your account.
3. Tap Let’s begin.
4. Select your Deco model.
5. Unpack the contents of the box. Power up the first Deco and plug in the Ethernet cable from the radio power supply (the cable from the radio power supply MUST be the one that states Gigabit Data. DO NOT use the one that states Gigabit Data and Power as this Ethernet connection must go to the roof radio unit) directly into one of the Ethernet port on the DECO.
Once you verify you have everything, go to the next step.
6. Click on the "I don't have a modem" link highlighted at the bottom of the writing and before the image.
7. Check that the Bluetooth on your phone and wait until Deco’s LED light pulses blue.
Note: If the LED is not pulsing blue, press the RESET on Deco for one second, the LED will turn to yellow. Just wait for about 2 minutes until the LED turn to pulsing blue and go on.
8. Your smartphone will attempt to find and link to the Deco.
9. Assign your connected Deco to a room. The location will be also used as this Deco’s name.
10. Under Internet Connection Type change and select PPPoE. In the displayed PPPoE section enter your Dreamtilt broadband pppoe-username and Dreamtilt broadband pppoe-password. (If you cannot remember these, you can login to your account online here and then go to Services, then select your broadband plan to view your pppoe-username and pppoe-password).
11. Create your Wi-Fi network name and password. This will also be your Dreamtilt broadband pppoe-username in the Network Name and Dreamtilt broadband pppoe-password in the Password.
12. Connect your phone/tablet to the Deco’s Wi-Fi.
13. Setup complete. Now you can connect all your devices to the Deco network. If you have other Deco units in the same package, just plug in these Decos and they will be added to the network within 2 minutes.
