If you have reset your router, the settings for the router to connect will have been removed and the wifi will now state TP Link-xxxx or similar.
The router will need the settings put back into the router before it can connect to the internet.
You will need the PPPoE Username and PPPoE Password information. If you have forgotten the username and password from setup, you can find this information by logging on at https://billing.dreamtilt.com.au and then clicking on Services and then select your broadband plan. In the Manage Service page you will see the PPPoE Username and PPPoE Password. Note this information down as you will need this to configure the router successfully. You will also need to look at the bottom of the router to check for the router model number- use this model number to determine which instructions to follow below.
Note: The instructions below refer to pppoe-username and pppoe-password. Replace this details with the username and password as per above.
If you have a TP Link Router TL-WR940N -
You will need to connect either by an ethernet cable or by connecting to the wireless SSID which by default will state something like TPLink-xxxx and will have a wireless password that is an 8 digit number which will be located on a sticker under the router.
Once connected you need to open a browser window and go to http://192.168.0.1 and login with the username - admin and the password - admin.
Then you can go to Network, WAN settings and change the connection to PPPoE and then set the username to - pppoe-username and the password to - pppoe-password. Click on Save button to save the settings.
You can then go to the System Tools -> Time and from the drop down select +10 Brisbane, Australia and click save.
Click on Wireless, and then Wireless Settings, and change the Wireless SSID to - pppoe-username and click save. (Note if you are connected to this network wireless it will now drop out and you will need to reconnect to the new SSID with the 8 digit login number from the default sticker under the router)
You need to log back into the router and go to Wireless-> Wireless Security and change the WPA2 setting to - pppoe-password and click save.
You should then be able to log all devices back on using the wireless SSID - pppoe-username and the wireless password - pppoe-password
If you have a TP Link Router Archer C-20 -
You will need to connect either by an ethernet cable or by connecting to the wireless SSID which by default will state something like TPLink-xxxx and will have a wireless password that is an 8 digit number which will be located on a sticker under the router.
Once connected you need to open a browser window and go to http://192.168.0.1 and enter the username admin and the password admin..
Click on the Quicksetup option at the side. Follow the quick setup process as follows -
- Select PPPoE/PPoE Russia as the connection type and click next
3. Enter the username - pppoe-username and the password - pppoe-password for the PPPoE connection. Leave secondary connection as - None. Click Next.
4. Make sure both the 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz are ticked and click next
5. For the 2.4Ghz SSID enter - pppoe-username and the WPA-PSK password - pppoe-password, click next and for the 5Ghz SSID enter - pppoe-username_5G and the WPA-PSK password - pppoe-password. Click Next
6. Conform the settings and click save
The router will now save the settings and connect back to the Internet. You can connect to the wireless networks using the above passwords entered.
If you have a TP Link Archer C-54 -
You will need to connect either by an ethernet cable or by connecting to the wireless SSID which by default will state something like TPLink-xxxx and will have a wireless password that is an 8 digit number which will be located on a sticker under the router.
Once connected you need to open a browser window and go to http://192.168.0.1 and you may need to enter a new password for the router - enter pppoe-password - and then save.
Follow the quick setup process as follows -
1. Set the timezone to +10 Brisbane from the drop down list and click Next
2. Select PPPoE as the connection type and click next
3. Enter the username - pppoe-username and the password - pppoe-password for the PPPoE connection. Leave secondary connection as - None. Click Next.
4. For the 2.4Ghz SSID enter - pppoe-username and the password - pppoe-password and for the 5Ghz SSID enter - pppoe-username_5G and the password - pppoe-password. Click Next
The router will now save the settings and connect back to the Internet.
